Suggestions for some thing a little different:

  • Try the Wedge Café located in Elizabeth Bay they are known for their European-style cakes, light and airy café, serve great coffee and unfussy food. They often play jazz, adding to the mood.
  • A very special shopping and coffee café experience at Café Maybach. They serve an equally sleek and delightful range of treats whilst you browse, drool or purchase one or two (his & hers) of the latest model Mercs at the Sydney Mercedes Dealership.
  • Fly & Dine Packages are another of Sydney’s most exciting dining experiences to be enjoyed with Seaplane Safaris at your door-step in Rose Bay.
  • Late night dining, romantic music combined with the French/Seafood menu, this garden theme bar and restaurant with its fresh spring like outdoor area is a perfect setting for a slow food, ambient evening, you will find all this at The Gazebo Wine Garden, it also has a wine list that boasts 300 labels and some fun cocktails. (Best organise a lift after this outing, even if you are on foot.)
  • For a hearty steak go to the Village Grill.
  • Or get some inspiration for your next Bollywood night, watch a Bollywood block buster as you taste a tandori at Planet Bollywood.
  • The pub on Old South Head Road in Double Bay has a fabulous meal and a very popular courtyard out the back with music.
  • A sobering coffee perhaps, Dee Bee’s Café is open very late.

Watsons Bay  – The Watto affectionately known by the locals (Doyles Palace Hotel) is an icon for the deck and beer garden to take in a cold beer and some of those prawns on the B.B.Q. The last suburb on the peninsula is Watsons Bay, this charming suburb has long been one of Sydney’s most popular for a picnic.

Shopping:

After a couple of hours shopping in the high fashion boutiques of Double Bay, you will need to find time for some pampering at its best, seek out this private haven tucked away in this 19th Century Victorian House for a time of pure indulgence. The team of therapists from Phuket will indulge you in all the treatments you could possibly desire at the Angsana Spa Double Bay.

Water Activities:

Sydney Harbour Escapes offer a cruise or sail on the habour, spa treatments, Bed & Breakfast all onboard – now that’s really getting away from it all, whilst you are in amongst it all.

Recreation – Golf

Rose Bay houses The Royal Sydney Golf Club, where you can play 18 holes or 19 if you insist!, just don’t play too hard at the 19th, you may miss the ball completely.

Nature walks:

From Watsons Bay the walk continues through the National Park to South Head and The Gap for a spectacular look out and Macquarie Lighthouse that has been guiding ships through the heads since 1883. The bays all along this stretch are known for their magestic homes and famous residents.
